Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Price, Release Date, Features, Rumors, Specs And Everything You want to Know
Update 15/07 : Updates that will blow your mind
It’s a tantalizing moment, the arena is being set. A few months from Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch and the rumors going strong about the features, and for today we have two killer updates. The first one is more related to the phablet itself and tweeted by Samsung says the Galaxy Note 4 will have a retina scanner. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with it’s retina scanner will be a more secure phone to use than the iPhone or any other phones. But that’s not it. The second made me sit and think for a while because it’s really surprising to see Samsung doing something to the price tag of Note 4. If the news is true, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be priced less than the Note 3, the Galaxy Note 4 is set to have a killer price tag less than what the Note 3 came with. The price tag news is one to be confirmed from officials, but for what we know it’s going to be a reality than just a rumor.
UPDATE – 12 July 2014 – Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Launched Date Confirmed
The leaks about Galaxy Note 4 can’t be ignored and its true when the leak is about unwrapping the cover off the next phablet monster. The Galaxy Note 4 will be unveiled at IFA September on 5th, hitting the carriers in two weeks and going for global sale by the end of that month. And with specs like Snapdragon 805 and a rumored 64Bit Exynos SoC, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is the next big thing taking the Note experience and the phablet experience to a whole new level.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 : The Phablet beast in the making
Samsung’s holding the throne for the phablets and they plan to rule the kingdom of phablets with their next Galaxy phablet, the Samsung Note 4. With the Galaxy S5 securing the position for one tough smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 won’t be an exception. The Note 3 surprised us with it’s performance and ease of use of that big screen. Let’s meet and greet the next Galaxy.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 : What do you need to know about it?
In a single line, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be a phablet. A brief about phablets, they are neither big like the tablet counterparts they replace nor small like their smartphone elder brothers. An ideal range for a phablet will be around 5.5 inches, some of the phablets these days are crossing this range and trust me, a huge phone in your pocket isn’t a comfortable experience.

How’s Samsung the king of phablets?
Well, they have practically optimized their phablets for ease of use, by adding a stylus and tweaking the software to be used with the stylus. Multi window, air view, air command and even taking notes can be done with the S-Pen stylus.
Will Samsung Note 4 be any different?
Well, not exactly. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will have the same stylus, but with more sensitivity and more commands and buttons. AMOLED screen will follow in the same manner, a new design is expected which will be waterproof and dustproof just like the Galaxy S5.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 : Specs in a nutshell
Enough of the boring news and info that you hear everyday. Let’s get to the real deal, the hardware, software and what concerns the geek and the normal people.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Hardware : Big things come in big package
The hardware is no exception in any Note series, not even the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. With announcement of Snapdragon 805, 810 processors, manufacturers are going crazy to get their hands on one. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will have the following specs :
- Quad Core Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.5GHz
- Cat 6 Support.
- 5.5 inch SUPER AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pumping out a ppi of 500+.
- S-Pen stylus with updated gestures and air command.
- 3GB LPDDR3 RAM
- Dustproof and waterproof capabilities.
- Android 4.4.3 out of the box.
- 16 Megapixel rear camera with ISOCELL technology, 4K video recording. 2 Megapixel front cam with 1080p video recording.
- 3,700 mAh Battery
The newly announced Snapdragon processors come with 64 bit architecture which we won’t be seeing anytime soon. For the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung will go with the Snapdragon for the LTE enabled variants and Exynos chip with heterogeneous processing for other variants. Either way, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be a powerful companion for all your needs and ideal camera phone for that picture perfect moments.

The Software : Touchwiz, Android and other tweaks
The Galaxy S5 ships with Android 4.4 out of the box with the next update coming, the Android 4.4.3, we can be assured that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be coming the latest Android out of the box. But what all other software features you will be seeing? Well, the answer is Touchwiz and this time more it than anything else. The Touchwiz has evolved from being the sluggish UI it was to a sleek UI ( but not yet to stand out of the crowd), but the real deal will be the fact that Touchwiz will be completely optimized for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Air command and other gestures will be given a tweak adding more commands and the Wacom digitizer and screen itself will be more sensitive than it was before.
Wait, there’s more to say
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 won’t be just an upgrade from the current version, but a revamp altogether. We can’t expect a truly premium device from Samsung. But the faux leather design and plasticky edges will give way to aluminium finish and some plastic here and there. This won’t be any premium like the iPhone or HTC M8 or any other phone, but the price and for the size, you’re getting a lot more than what you bargained for. Plus a cleaner more flat designed Touch Wiz is planned for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 so the pleasure of using it will be more.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release Date : Waiting can be fun
Well, we won’t be seeing the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 till September. That’s way too long to wait for such a device, but waiting can be fun. The new phablet, the Note 4 will rewrite what a phablet should have and should be.
Developer version Samsung Galaxy Note 4 , say what? : Some good news for developers
So, technically speaking the phone will have two versions, the Snapdragon and Exynos one. But there will also be a developer version of the phone. So you tech geeks out there can get your hands on something more cool and friendlier and tweak it to your likes. The developer trend started a few days back when the official Samsung Galaxy S5 had a developer version listed on the Samsung website. This comes as a surprise because after the buzz of the great phablet, owners will either install a custom ROM or change it for a new one (although the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 can be a future proof phone). With the developer version in hand, some tweaks here and there will imitate some or more of the functionality of a custom ROM yet retaining all those good stuff that was in it in the first place.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Experience : Experience it before buying
A smart move indeed by Samsung, the S5 Experience app will also updated to the latest version for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. This means that a user with an Android phone can download the app, experience all the features of the device and decide whether or not to buy it. The experience app in Play Store provides a lot about the device, but there are some hardware limitations for the app like the current one needs Android 4.xx+ and 1GB of RAM to run smoothly.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Price : Cheap won’t do
The Galaxy Note 4 will not be a premium device, but it won’t be any cheap. For the hardware and the overall package that you’re getting a heavy price tag is expected. There is no official confirmation about the pricing of the device. We just have to wait a bit more to find out.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Update April 21/2014
Talks with a Samsung Exec revealed more about the unreleased Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The new news comes with lots of surprises apparently. According to the Exec, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will have a new and revamped designed, and completely removing the faux leather or even the dotted pattern seen on the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S5. Well, it’s unclear if it’s going to be the same polycarbonate material finish or aluminium. But a few months back, Samsung was working on Carbon Fiber, so more surprise awaits.
The 3 GB RAM module will follow with a higher frequency than what it is having now. The problem with older variants of Note and Galaxy series was that an LTE variant was not released in India and some other parts in the world. Well, Samsung is fixing this problem, apparently an LTE variant of S5 is coming and folks don’t have to wait as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 LTE will be released all over the world. As far as other specs goes, 5.6 inch with 2560×1440 resolution will be an interest on Galaxy Note 4 and a flat design UX is also expected. ISOCELL will follow although some rumors point to an 18 megapixel sensor instead of 16, 4K recording of 30fps also made a standard.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 YOUM OLED Rendered Concept @ Samsung4note.com
Surprised about the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 coming with a smaller display size than the current gen Note 3, well read on for more. Samsung’s mobile chief Lee Young Hee has revealed in an interview that the Galaxy Note could use a three sided display, surprised? The story doesn’t end there, the display will be made in such a way that a user can read messages and other notifications from an angle. We have seen the YOUM in action, Samsung’s own OLED panel and if this weird idea of a three sided display goes true, a 5 inch 3 sided display will be seen on the Note. Apart from the 3 sided display wonder, the specs will remain the same. The rumored release date for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 however will be pushed to September when the IFA starts.
The dandy Note series may be completely revamped to make way for Samsung Galaxy Note 4, with an all new form factor, the YOUM flexible technology by Samsung. Read more about YOUM in our Exclusive Note 4 YOUM display review page (Galaxy Note 4 YOUM display is listed on the menu bar).
Update June 02/06
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to come with a bigger ISOCELL sensor and improved water and dustproof capabilities
It’s not surprising that smartphone manufacturers are aiming for better spec sheet and a better camera these days, considering the offerings of Nokia Lumia and HTC One. Well, Samsung’s racing to get there too with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in terms of camera of course. We all have seen the performance of ISOCELL in Galaxy S5 and I can surely say that without any ultra pixel magic or anything, the images taken from the S5 is pure gem, but things turn upside down at night where the ultra pixels shine. The bigger sensor and pixel size allows HTC One to capture more detail and light in low light (sometimes overexposed as seen with the HTC One M8). The upcoming Note, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be coming with a bigger sensor, a 1/2″ one with bigger pixel size meaning better clarity in low light. Other additions include, dual tone flash, an improved night mode and improved background blur or broken capabilities. That rounds up the camera department, but we have another exciting news for you folks. The dustproof and waterproof capabilities of the Galaxy S5 would be seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 but a bit improved over the current. Rumours pointing to military standard rating for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. But it’s too soon to be chasing the rumours and sometimes these rumours can come true.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Benchmarks reveal powerful hardware
Benchmarks reveal quite a bit about the hardware of a phone and we have some good news from AnTuTu for Samsung Galaxy Note 4. We know a little about the form factor of the phone so far, maybe it’s a premium device or maybe plastic like rest of the Galaxy series, but for hardware, we are looking at two new device models, SM-N910S and SM-N910C with 2K Display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB memory and 16 Megapixel camera. Both are similar but the heartbeat of these models come from two different chipsets, the SM-910S having a Snapdragon 805 SoC and the SM-910C having an Exynos 5433. The interesting though is the Exynos variant we are looking at comes with 64 bit Octa Core SoC with Cortex A57 and A53.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Update June 25/06 : Launch date confirmed
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to be globally launched in IFA
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to be launched at the IFA, 5th September this year say reports from South Korea and other shareholders. It’s been only a few months since the launch of Galaxy S5 and we are ready to see another Galaxy, but this time around a phablet. The launch date is almost same as that of Galaxy Note 3 which was announced in IFA last year on September 25th.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 front Cam update
We heard alot of rumors about the hardware of the device. and some of them being true. The 16 Megapixel rear camera module for the Samsung Note 4 is almost confirmed but we have an update about the front cam too. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will have a 3.6 Megapixel front cam which is somewhat close to QHD having 1080p video recording features as well. This is an odd megapixel count for a front facing camera, but for selfie freaks this is a good news.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Update June 26/06 : 12MP Camera with OIS
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to come with 12 Megapixel camera with OIS
Got shocked by the headlines? A shocking report by the website ET Times reports that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be coming with a 12 Megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization, a first for the Galaxy line up. 12 Megapixels! We think Samsung’s going crazy, an inferior camera to the Galaxy S5 and one less than it’s predecessor, Galaxy Note but the innovation here is the Optical Image Stabilization. Yes, no blurry shots from now on. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be the first to incorporate OIS but in a less Megapixel count that it. Whether or not this report will be true is a question to raise, because the digital stabilization on the Galaxy line up does a good job. Nexus 6 will give direct competition to Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
Update 11/07 : Samsung teases Exynos 5433
We had earlier confirmed that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be coming with an Exynos 5433 chipset, well it’s close to reality now. Samsung on Wednesday teased the new SoC, while the 64Bit architecture remains a mystery. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is to come with this SoC, and some features include an Intel Cat 6 LTE, and an upgraded Mali GPU. Whether or not it will come with the more hyped ARM A53 and A57 cores is a real mystery, but previous benchmarks show that this new SoC beats Snapdragon 805.
